Darjon Mouldings are skilled and experienced in the business of providing new and replacement architectural items such as cornices, columns and capitals. Please see below for some examples of our work, including some images of the manufacturing process.
External cornices can be produced using fibreglass to provide an elegant look to your building project.
Alternatively designs can be matched to the original cornice or other architectural features.
Darjon Mouldings produce various items for the building trade including fibreglass columns. Ideal for external use to emulate the look of a traditional stone column, fibreglass columns are lightweight, maintenance free and cost effective compared with traditional building materials.
Many of our columns are used internally by building contractors to cover support girders, framework and cabling. They provide an eye pleasing finish to any building.
This old and worn capital needed to be replaced so we carefully applied a layer of rubber to make a mould. The mould was then used to create a highly details fibreglass replica which was fitted in place of the original stone capital.
Fibreglass when correctly used, will provide a strong, attractive and durable finish:
- Lasts a lifetime – made of the toughest glass reinforced plastic.
- No rips or leaks – because the unit has no seams and is one continuous surface.
- Fire resistant resin available upon request.
- Chemical resistant resin available upon request.
“Here in the UK, the term ‘Fibreglass’ has become the universal term for this material. There are, however, a number of terms and spellings used to describe Fibreglass and these include Fiberglass, Fibre Glass, Fiber Glass, Glassfibre, Glassfiber, Glass Fibre, Glass Fiber and GRP, or Glass Reinforced Plastic.”
